Dear Glen Mar Friends,

Fall is almost here, though as I write this, it doesn’t feel like it yet!

August Family Worship is called “Drawn In: Living the Creative Life with God.” We’ll explore ways our Creator God creates masterpieces in our lives, and ways we are called to live “creatively” too—through “dreaming” God’s dreams, and waiting for the Holy Spirit to move, taking holy boldness risks, and listening for the Spirit’s response.

September will feature the start of a series called “A Faith that Works” where we will study the book of James to find out how we are called to live our faith in the world. Our Fall Kickoff (of fall programming, classes, and groups) is on September 8 and Disciple Sunday is September 15.

October’s series will be “Upside-Down Kingdom,” a study of Mark and the Kingdom of God. You will not want to miss it!

Also, on August 18, we will welcome our new Pastor for Congregational Care Rev. Gayle Annis-Forder and her husband, Dick, to our congregation! I’m so excited for you to get to meet her! She brings a wealth of experience, a heart for Christ and people, and a passion for connecting people, for teaching, and for interfaith work. I know she’ll be a blessing to Glen Mar, and that Glen Mar will be a blessing to her too!

See you in worship this August and fall—and don’t forget our blessing of Teachers, Students and Backpacks on August 25 too!

See you in Church
Pastor Mandy
