If you’ve been thinking about joining a Growth Group (a Glen Mar small study group), make sure to mark September 11 on your calendar. That Sunday will be our fall kickoff for new groups, and previews of several of these opportunities are listed below. Groups will be starting the weeks of September 18 or 25 and will meet at various times. Stay tuned for additional details over the next few weeks, including how you can sign up online. If you have questions, please email the Growth Groups Team.
The Call – Various Days/Evenings
Follow the journeys of Paul, beginning with his dramatic conversion, as he spread the Gospel through modern-day Greece and Turkey. Travel to the early church sites and explore Paul’s conversations with the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians. In this six-week study, you are invited to experience faith through Christ’s greatest teacher and missionary. See more about the study, The Call, and watch the promotional video. See the signup below for actual times/dates.
Starting Point – Monday Evenings
Everything has a beginning. Every person, every idea, every journey starts somewhere. Whether it is one small step in a new direction or a major event, from that point forward, nothing is ever the same. It is not always comfortable. It’s not always easy. But it is a start. See more about the study, Starting Point, and watch the promotional video.
Disciple 1 – Tuesday OR Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Embark on a foundational study of the entire Bible that will give you a deeper understanding of Scripture and its meaning for your personal faith. Through daily readings, video presentations by Biblical scholars, and in-depth discussions, you will journey from Genesis to Revelation over the course of 34 weeks. Disciple 1 is open to anyone, regardless of your experience with the Bible. If you’ve never been in a Bible study, this is a great place to start!
Disciple 3 – Sundays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Entitled “Remember Who You Are”, this third installment in the Disciple program focuses on the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. Over 32 weeks you will read all of the Old Testament prophetic books (except Daniel) along with the thirteen letters attributed to Paul. Discover the grand themes of the prophets that informed Paul’s gospel, and hear them call us back to God as a special people set apart. Disciple 3 is open to anyone who has completed Disciple 1 or an equivalent study.
