Pastor’s Ponderings – The Great Three Days

Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Glen Mar friends,

Our hearts and our prayers are with the families of those whose lives were lost in the collapse of the Key Bridge this week and with the City of Baltimore, and all who are affected by this tragedy.

As we prepare for the Triduum (or “Great Three Days”) of the church year, we will enter into our Lord’s Passion first at the Table, where we will be reminded of the New Commandment given to us, and the call to serve one another in vulnerable ways. Good Friday will feature powerful worship and drama as we gather at the Cross, and Easter Sunday is a time to celebrate God’s victory over sin and death and the new life that Easter brings to us all.

Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services are both at 7:30 pm, March 28 and 29. On Easter, we’ll have Sunrise Service at 6:30 am (bring a chair if you can) and Easter Celebratory Services at 9:30 and 11:00 am. If you’re a follower of Jesus, let’s follow him “all the way”—from the table, to the garden, to the cross and to the empty tomb! Share this site with your friends and neighbors! It has all the information.

Finally, in this season of resurrection, I wanted to share some upcoming Memorial Services.

  • We will celebrate Paul Crawford’s life on Good Friday, March 29, at Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home. Visitation at 3:00 pm and service at 4:00.
  • Longtime member Bobbi Marcinko went to be with the Lord this week, and her service will also be on Good Friday at the same location, visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00.

Please pray for these families and come out if you can to show your love for these Glen Mar saints.

In the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection….

See you in church,

Pastor Mandy
