Glen Mar Food Drive – May 25 to June 15. As part of our continuing mission to provide food for needy families in Howard County, as well as those served by our partner church in Baltimore, Ames United Methodist Church, Glen Mar will be collecting food items from May 25 to June 15. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place, and thank you for your continued efforts to feed local families in need. The next “Aging and the Spiritual Journey” study is scheduled for September 23-November 18. It will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-3:00 at the church. There are several spots available for the study so if you’d like to sign up or if you would like more information, please don’t wait. Email Cathie Leimenstoll or contact the church office.

Who is helped by Stephen Ministry? People who need someone to listen to them. People who are struggling with their faith in God, discouraged, anxious, lonely, coping with divorce, grieving the loss of a loved one, dying, hospitalized, experiencing the loss of a job, having financial difficulties, new to our congregation or community, or going through transition. In other words, all of us can be helped by Stephen Ministry at some point or another. To join our next training class that begins mid-September or simply to learn more about Stephen Ministry, please contact Pastor Gayle and/or email Stephen Ministry.

Back To School – The school year is coming to an end, but the new school year will be here before you know it. In preparation, we’re starting to collect backpacks for students served by Glen Mar’s partner church, Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, as well as students here in Howard County. The need is always greatest for high school age students. Please be on the lookout for this type of backpack or consider a financial donation if that is more convenient. If you would like to help with this mission, or have questions, please contact Pat Lee.

Lunch Bunch is a group of “seasoned citizens” who meet the third Tuesday of each month from September through June for fellowship, fun, and of course, lunch. Dinner & a Movie – We are looking for families willing to host Dinner & a Movie nights for high school youth this summer. On Wednesday nights we would like a family to provide dinner and then a TV with a way of ordering an online movie and room for a dozen or so people. The timeframe would be from 6:30-9:30 pm. We are looking for hosts on: July 2, July 16, July 30. Contact D.C. Veale if interested.
