Some of Glen Mar’s young adults from the Post College Small Group were joined by friends to enjoy a weekend retreat in Deep Creek Lake over the weekend of February 25-27. Our group rented an incredibly well-equipped Vacation Rental by Owner (VRBO) house for the retreat, which was the perfect place to explore the theme of “Sabbath.” Each day’s agenda was all about rest and relaxation. Our group enjoyed hiking, snacking, playing board games, cooking together, and watching Shrek! Several group members prepared short devotionals to help the group better understand the biblical concept of sabbath rest – from its foundations in Genesis – to Jesus’ teachings in the New Testament. In spite of some chilly February days, the weekend was incredibly warm and refreshing. We’re looking forward to the next one!
