Serving is our way of being God’s hands and feet in the world.

There are so many ways to serve, whether it’s here – directly at or for Glen Mar Church, near – in the greater Howard County and Baltimore community, or far – wherever else in the world God calls us to help others and be in relationship with them. Here is a glimpse of the wide variety of ways we show love for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

SERVE HERE

Many hands make light work! There are many ways to serve one another right here in our Glen Mar community. Even small gestures like praying, sending a care package, or helping raise funds for a ministry are great ways to show the love of Christ to our neighbors.

SERVE NEAR

Glen Mar people lend their time, talent, and resources to many great activities and partner organizations like those below. Many of these ministries have been going on for years. To learn more, check the Upcoming Events or read about the latest opportunities to serve.

SERVE FAR

Glen Mar people understand the power of community in making a difference – near and far. Our community, as United Methodists, is mighty! Through our more than 13 million brothers and sisters meeting in 45,000 locations internationally, we are doing God’s work across the globe. Glen Mar actively supports the work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), our church’s primary humanitarian arm.
Glen Mar has commissioned hundreds of Mission trips in just the last 10 years. They have included annual trips to our “adopted” community in Hurley, Virginia to repair homes; to Slidell, Louisiana to provide Hurricane relief, and even to Haiti to help build a hospital. In 2023 and 2024, we traveled to Plymouth, NC where we repaired homes and renovated the local food-bank. Adults and youth alike have learned the power of lending a helping hand while being in relationship with those we serve. Looking for a transformational experience yourself on a mission trip?
