Dear Glen Mar friends,
What a beautiful week it has been at Vacation Bible School! I had the privilege of leading kids in two different stations, KidVid and Bible Exploration, and had a blast (although my over 40 back may have a different story). The kids were excited and engaged as they learned about God’s plan in the life of Joseph, Jesus life, death, and resurrection. Many friendships were developed all while learning the good news of God’s “Monumental Love.” This Sunday, VBS kids will share some of their favorite songs at the beginning of the 9:30 am service. You will not want to miss it!
This week’s Greatest Hit is The Beatles, “We Can Work It Out“. This song appeared on the 1966 album, “Yesterday and Today”. It was reportedly written by Paul McCarthy about a disagreement that he had with his then girlfriend. The meaning of the song is the importance of talking things through and/or “working it out” with someone when there is discord or disagreement. This will song will pair well in examining the “Stories of Brothers” as found in the greatest hit biblical story, Joseph and His Colorful Coat.
Also, Hopeworks is in great need of pantry donations. Due to high demand, they have run out of many staple foods and personal care products. All items donated must be new, unopened, and not expired or used. Toiletries and personal care items must be full size, not travel size. Please go on the Hopeworks website for a current list of high demand pantry donation needs.
See you in Church,
Pastor Melaina Trice
