Dear Glen Mar friends,
Our first significant snowfall in a long time has led to some time home for Glen Mar children and staff too. Snow slows us down in sometimes needed ways, and invites us to play, or to sip hot chocolate, and perhaps give thanks for the gift of life and God’s presence.
I’m hard at work on the next preaching series (which will start on Sunday, January 19), “Six Stone Jars: Abundant Life in Christ.” We’ll talk about how Jesus’ vision of “abundant life” means caring for the least, last, lost and left out, and the myth of scarcity that often limits our vision and our energy. We’ll use the metaphor of a “jar” as we look ahead, asking God to:
Fill our homes with hope;
Fill our plans with purpose;
Fill our wounds with healing;
Fill our days with meaning;
Fill our future with vision, and
Fill our cup with grace.
You won’t want to miss it! Plan now to make worship a priority in 2025!
This Sunday, we’ll have Mission Sunday, as we share testimonies about how folks have grown in their discipleship through serving others through our church and beyond. I can’t wait!
See you in Church,
Pastor Mandy
PS: I’m in search of some “jars” for use in our worship display for the series. (At least 6 of them—clay or ceramic or glass if not too thin and fragile). Can you help? Let Amy know at the church office.
