MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:

11th annual MLK Jr. Day of Service – Monday, January 20, 2025. Register NOW! This event offers service opportunities for all ages. To register or find the latest event updates, visit Day Of Service Event. If you have any questions, email the Day of Service Team.
Help support Glen Mar’s mission trip to Guatemala by donating to cover the cost of beds the group will build and deliver. Complete a donation form (on the table downstairs across from the Youth Office) and submit with a check payable to Glen Mar Church (memo – Guatemala beds) or donate online at Guatemala Mission Trip.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Communion Service – Sundays, 8:30 am. Join us in the Glen Mar Chapel for an intimate 30 minute service of communion, prayer and scriptural reflection.
Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group – Tuesday, January 14, 7:00 pm. This group will educate itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group!

The Messenger Deadline – Friday, January 17. Do you want to share about your ministry? Is there an event coming up you would like to publicize? Submit your articles or advertisement to me*******@gl********.org.

Upcoming Sermon Series – January 19-February 23. Six Stone Jars: Abundant Life In Christ. Learn how Jesus fills our jars and calls us to live an overflowing life for God and others.

Lunch Bunch – Tuesday, January 21, 11:30 am in the Lower Gathering Place. Lunch Bunch is a group of “seasoned citizens” who meet the third Tuesday of each month from September through June for fellowship, fun, and of course, lunch! This month is pot-luck! So bring your tastiest dish to share! If you have any questions, contact lunch bunch.

Alphabet Soup – Tuesday, January 21, 7:00 pm. Looking for a safe space where you can be yourself? Alphabet Soup is a reconciling community, celebrating diversity and inclusiveness, and welcoming and affirming ALL people. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in Room 124. Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center – Saturday, January 25. Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. If you’d like to contribute to the potluck menu, help serve on site, or even view future SignUps, please visit Day Resource Center. Mission Trip Info Meeting – Sunday, February 2, 4:30 pm. Learn all about our summer youth mission trips. June 22-28 we’ll return to North Carolina for home repair projects, and July 21-25 serve in the Baltimore area.

Youth Group Ice Skating – Sunday, January 12, 1:15 pm – 3:15 PM. Meet at the Columbia Ice Rink.
Youth Group Snow Tubing – Saturday, February 1, 8 am – 2:30 pm. Registration January 6-19 subject to availability. $46 per person.
