MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:

11th annual MLK Jr. Day of Service – Monday, January 20, 2025. Register NOW! This event offers service opportunities for all ages. To register or find the latest event updates, visit Day Of Service Event. If you have any questions, email the Day of Service Team.
Sleep In Heavenly Peace– Monday, January 20, 2025. Register NOW to be one of 30 or so volunteers to build 20 more beds for kids sleeping on the floor in Howard County. Participants must be 12 years of age and older, but no experience or tools required. Questions? email Sleep In Heavenly Peace Team.

Year-end is a time for Giving! As we take stock and reflect on our blessings this year, it seems only natural to express our gratitude with a gift, and while many of these gifts will be given to family and friends, many of us have been blessed by our church!
VBS 2025 Needs Your Old Christmas Tree! Help us venture into the forests of the Pacific Northwest by donating your old artificial Christmas trees! Please drop trees off in the Children & Family Office. Questions? Contact Julie Metakes.
What time are the Christmas Eve services this year? Family Christmas Eve services will be held at 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm (also online), Traditional Christmas Eve services will be held at 7:00 pm (also online) and 9:00 pm, and a Candlelight and Communion Service will be held at 11:00 pm, and please join us Christmas Day at 10:00 am.
Journey Through Grief – January 11 – February 15. A six-week support group meeting on Saturday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:00 am for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. There is no cost, but there is a sign up. Please sign up through Realm or call the Pastors’ Assistant to be signed up. Sign up deadline is January 9.
Serve as an MLK Jr. Day of Service Activity or Hospitality Assistant – Monday, January 20, 2025 from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm or from 12:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Sign up at Day Of Service Support Team or email Day of Service Team.
Calling all tech crew! Have you ever helped with a school play? Are you available once per month to operate a video camera? Looking for an easy way to serve? Let Amy Barnes know! We need your help to monitor our video cameras during the 9:30 am service. Will train!
Help support Glen Mar’s mission trip to Guatemala by donating to cover the cost of beds the group will build and deliver. Complete a donation form (on the table downstairs across from the Youth Office) and submit with a check payable to Glen Mar Church (memo – Guatemala beds) or donate online at Guatemala Mission Trip.

Communion Service – Sunday, December 29, 8:30 am. Join us in the Glen Mar Chapel for an intimate 30 minute service of communion, prayer and scriptural reflection throughout the season of Advent! Let’s get ready for the birth of our Savior through gathering for Holy Communion!

Our Next Turn @ Rt. 1 DRC – Saturday, December 28, 11:45 am – 2:00 pm. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC), Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. If you’d like to contribute to the potluck menu, help serve on site, or even view future SignUps, please visit Day Resource Center. Family Matters Potluck Dinner – Will not meet in January, but will meet on February 1, 6:00 pm in the Youth Lounge.
Epiphany Sunday – Sunday January 5. Start off the new year right with worship as we look at Christmas through the eyes of the Wise Men from the East.
Upcoming Sermon Series – January 19-February 23. Six Stone Jars: Abundant Life In Christ. Learn how Jesus fills our jars and calls us to live an overflowing life for God and others.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service – Monday, January 20, 2025 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This year’s activities range from hands-on projects like packaging meals, decorating cookies, and writing letters of encouragement. Register today!

YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

No Youth Sunday School or Confirmation today or next week. On Sunday, December 29, D.C. is preaching, but come to worship anyway! Sunday school, Confirmation Class, and Youth Group will resume on Sunday, January 5.
Youth Group Ice Skating – Sunday, January 12, 1:15 pm – 3:15 PM at Columbia Ice Rink.
Youth Group Snow Tubing – Saturday, February 1, 8 am – 2:30 pm. Register by January 5 to guarantee your spot. Registration January 6-19 subject to availability. $46 per person.

MUSIC MINISTRY:
