SPOTLIGHT MINISTRIES:
- Free Fall Prevention Class – Tuesday, January 20, 1:30 pm. Join us for a free presentation by the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center on steps to take lower your risk of a fall with serious injury. Please register so that we know you’re coming by visiting the table in the Gathering Place, searching for fall risk on the Glen Mar website, or calling the church office. - 2026 Day of Service – Monday, January, 19, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Join us for one of the most fun days of the year. Help pack 90,000+ meals or participate in one of 20 other on or offsite service projects. Appropriate for ages 3 to 103. Come for an hour or come for the day. OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:
- Food and Clothing Collection! – As part of the upcoming Day of Service on 19 January, we will be collecting food and clothing items for people in the Ames, Manna House, and Howard County communities. At this time of year, warm clothing is especially welcome. This includes coats, hats, clothing, and shoes for people of all ages. We will also collect food, with an emphasis on canned vegetables, fruit, and meat. In addition, we will collect toiletries such as shampoo, soap, hygiene products, and toothpaste. Thank you for all you do to support those in our community who are in need.
- Our Turn at the Day Resource Center – Saturday, January 24. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center, Glen Mar provides usually provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. 8-10 adult volunteers are needed to prepare one or more dishes, half of whom will stay to serve lunch on site or do other jobs (e.g., greeter, shower/laundry monitor, pantry). SOCIAL JUSTICE OPPORTUNITIES:
- Good Trouble – Sign up for the Social Justice Mailing List to receive email notifications about local opportunities to stand up against injustice. Learn about protests, letter writing campaigns, vigils, educational gatherings, and more. Email us to join the list.
- Social Justice Library – Borrow a book and learn more about social justice issues. Choose from a wide assortment of topics, both fiction and non-fiction. Located in the Lower Gathering Place near the Missions Table.

- Youth Group – All 6th-12th graders are urged to join us tonight from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Spirit Center for our Winter Olympics Game Night. Human Curling, Speed Skating, Crab Hockey, Bobsled and more! Bring $5 for dinner.

- Snow Tubing – 6th-12th grade youth (and parent drivers) should register for our Snow Tubing outing on Saturday, February 7 at by January 25.

Health challenges and crises are some of the most difficult times any of us go through. This week, our Stephen Ministry trainees are learning about care for those who are ill from our own Pastor Chris Dembeck.
