SPOTLIGHT MINISTRIES
  • Glen Mar Speaker Series: Entering a New Season – Tuesday, May 19, 1:00 pm, in Youth Lounge. As part of Glen Mar’s ongoing speaker series for older adults, Jenn Gruber, Family Transition and Life Coach, will offer guidance on navigating emotions as we age with clarity and grace. Please register so we know how many to expect and can provide you with resources.
  • VBS 2026 Rainforest Falls Join us July 13-17th for a week of adventure exploring what it means to be rooted in a relationship with God! An extended option is also available for kids who need a full-day program. Register NOW! Registration closes June 1! Contact Julie Metakes or visit the website for more information.
  • rise – TOGETHER AS ONE Information Session – Sunday, May 17 in the Youth Lounge! Join Pastor Chris after either worship service to learn about what the rise – TOGETHER AS ONE campaign is, how it’s different than campaigns in the past, and how you can support Glen Mar’s future! If you can’t make it, there will be an opportunity tomorrow evening in the Youth Lounge at 7:00 pm.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:
  • Rt. 1 Day Resource Center – Saturday, May 23. Glen Mar usually provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. 8-10 adult volunteers are needed to prepare one or more dishes, half of whom will stay to serve! Visit Glen Mar DRC for more information.
  • Grassroots Meals Ministry – Looking for a way to serve those in need in Howard County? Sign up today to purchase and bring to Glen Mar 2 frozen Stouffer’s Family-sized meatloaves or 5 gallons of milk for the Grassroots Emergency Shelter. You can drop off the
    frozen meatloaves in the Glen Mar freezer and the milk in the refrigerator any time before Sunday, May 24. Sign up here. Questions? Contact Linda Hunt.
  • The Men’s Choir (Men in Black) will sing on Sunday, May 24 at the 9:30 am service. Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, May 17 at 10:45 am in Room 145 and Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 pm in the Music Suite. For more information, please contact Kelvin Ying.
  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed BuildRescheduled for Saturday, May 30, 9:30 am in the Glen Mar parking lot. Sign up in the Gathering Place, sign up at or email the Glen Mar Sleep in Heavenly Peace Team.
  • Spring Food CollectionNow through Sunday, May 31. In order to help our brothers and sisters in Baltimore, and our neighbors here in Howard County, we will be collecting canned meat, canned soup, rice, canned vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal, cooking oil, diapers (size 4+), and feminine hygiene products.
  • Twin Bedding Drive – The Howard County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace will be holding a twin bedding drive at Gen Mar Church from today, April 19 through Sunday, May 31. Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) will deliver this year approximately 200 beds to children ages 3-17 yrs old in Howard County that don’t have a bed of their own. Donations can be left in the Gathering Place. New twin bedding only. Thank You!
  • Baltimore Mission Week – Don’t miss an opportunity to learn about urban ministry during the Baltimore Mission Week July 20-24, for youth and adults currently in 6th grade and older. $125/person with discounts for adults and confirmands.   • The Covenant Ringers are seeking a Handbell Director. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings. We are looking for someone with experience in conducting and/or skilled handbell ringing. If you are interested or know someone who may be a good fit, please contact Sophie.
  • VBS is looking for volunteers and donations. Help children explore the true nature of God and show kids what it means to be rooted in a relationship with God. Contact Julie Metakes to find out how you can help!

  • Glen Mar’s 24-7 Prayer Room! May 31-June 7. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8. From May 31 to June 7, Glen Mar will pray as a church family: creating space to seek God together for our future, our community, and the work God is calling us to do together in this season of prayer. 168 hours of prayer. Other churches can do it. Can you, Glen Mar? Sign up individually or with your family to spend one hour in the chapel in a variety of ways to commune with God. Search for prayer room on the website.   • Confirmation Service Sunday, May 31, 4:00 pm in the Spirit Center. Come support our 8th graders as they profess their faith and join the church!

YOUTH NEWS:
  • Youth Group – Sunday, May 17, 5:30-7:30 pm. An awesome Scavenger Hunt. Can you feed 5,000 people with just 2 fish and 5 loaves? Come find out! Meet in Youth Lounge and bring $5 for dinner.
  • High School Summer Bible Study Interest Meeting – There will be a meeting for all current 8th grade youth and older interested in a summer Bible study, next Sunday, May 17, 10:30 am, in Room 121. Let D.C. know if you want to take part but can’t make it to the meeting.

MUSIC MINISTRY:

STEPHEN MINISTRY:
  • If you’re sad or struggling inside, don’t suffer alone. Ask for help. We’ve got a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray, and help you through a tough time. To find out more, talk to one of the pastors or contact the Stephen Ministry Team.
EARLY LEARNING CENTER:
  • Glen Mar’s Early Learning Center – serves children from infants through preschool, and we are currently welcoming families for the 2026–2027 school year! If you know a family who may be looking for care, spread the word!
