Habitat For Humanity
Do you enjoy doing handy work? Or do you wish you knew how to do handy tasks around your home? The Glen Mar Habitat Crew welcomes you to join us, either way. You must be 16 or older to work on a Habitat site. We work the second Saturday of every month, our next work date is Saturday, February 10. 2024 Mission Trip Information Meeting – Sunday, January 28
Have you ever thought of joining a mission trip but just didn’t know if you could do it? Join us for our first information meeting for our June 2024 Mission Trip to Plymouth, NC. We’ll meet on January 28, right after the 9:30 and 11:00 am services in the Youth World. We look forward to seeing you there!
Family Matters Pot Luck Dinner – Saturday, February 3 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Do you have kids in preschool through middle school? We are a small group that typically meets every 1st Saturday of the month. This is a great opportunity to make friends with other families with kids at Glen Mar! Bring the whole family, an entrée or side dish and join us in the Glen Mar Youth Lounge.
HOLA Toastmasters of Ellicott City – Tuesday, February 6 at 7:30pm
We meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm. We have hybrid meetings both online and in person on first Tuesdays at Glen Mar and on ZOOM only on third Tuesdays. For more information, email Rajan G.
Dancing Needles – Thursday, February 8 at 1:00 pm
Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting or would you like to learn? We need you in our prayer shawl group. Prayer shawls are given to those in hospital and those in need of special care as a reminder that others care and are praying for them. The group is also making baby blankets for our newborns and scarves for our armed forces. We usually meet the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 pm in Room 144 to knit, crochet, and share together. If you wish you can knit or crochet at home and we can arrange to have your finished items picked up or dropped off at church. Donations of yarn are always welcome.

Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month (except December) at 7:00 pm. This group will educate itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group.
Ash Wednesday, February 14 – Worship Service 7:30 pm
Ash Wednesday marks the first day in the season of Lent – a 40-day season of reflection, repentance and renewal that prepares us for a fuller and more joyful experience of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter. We begin our Lenten Sermon Series with our evening worship service, “Witnesses to the Cross.” Join us! “Ashes to Go” a more informal individual service – drive-thru style – will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the Front Entrance Round-About.

- Honor a Loved One or Special Occasion – Sponsor one or two Spirit Center altar flower arrangements for a weekend. You have the option to either purchase or donate to “Shut-In” ministry. The cost is $40 per arrangement.
- Flower envelopes are available in the Cafe area in the Gathering Place. Any questions? Please call or email Mary Ellen.
- Donated Altar Flowers are used by our “Shut-In” ministry – members deliver flowers to Glen Mar members/attenders who cannot attend in person. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Janet.
- “Purchased To Keep” Altar flower arrangements – if you sponsored an arrangement – are available to take after the 9:30 service.
