MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:
  • Social Justice Library – Looking to learn more about social justice issues? Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group is unveiling their new Social Justice Library. The library includes both fiction and non-fiction books on an assortment of topics including race, immigration, and gender. Learn more in the Gathering Place today!
  • Mission Trip Training – Saturday, March 29, 9:15-12:00 pm in the Youth Lounge. If this is your first time attending a mission trip, this training is for you! Not yet signed up, but want to attend the Baltimore Mission Week or the NC Mission Trip? Sign up now or visit the table in the Gathering Place! Questions? Contact D.C. Veale.

  • Resources for Federal Workers & Contractors – A list of resources and organizations that are here to help.
  • AMES UMC Food CollectionMarch 30-April 19. Glen Mar will be collecting Easter food items to support our partners at Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and needy families in Howard County. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place, and thank you for your continued efforts to feed local families in need.
  • Easter Eggstravaganza – Saturday, April 12, 10:00-11:30 am. Children and families can enjoy a fun morning of egg hunting, crafts, games, and more. Please register online or sign up in the Gathering Place so we know how many to expect. Want to help? Talk to Julie or use the online registration to sign up.
  • Wisdom for Changing Times – Tuesdays, April 22, 29, and May 6. In the face of racial and religious bias, come together for Courageous Conversations to Recall, Renew, and Reclaim the wisdom we hold in the Howard County community. Registration starts March 24.
  • Easter Flowers – Help to beautify the sanctuary for Easter in honor/memory of a loved one. Please look for an envelope in the Cafe area and fill it out and hand to the Welcome Center Hostess. We will have a limited number of lilies and hydrangeas that you may either donate to a shut-in or take home.
  • Summer Mission Trips – June 22-28: North Carolina for home repair with Carolina Rebuilding Ministry. Open to all adults and youth currently in 8th grade or older, $300 or less. July 21-25: Baltimore Mission Week, a chance to serve in the Baltimore area while sleeping in your own bed. Open to all adults and youth currently in the 6th grade and older, $125 or less. Register now for the NC Mission Trip and/or the Baltimore Mission Week. The first training is March 29!
  • VBSRegister NOW to hold your spot for the True North Adventure, July 7-11! Don’t wait!
  • Stephen Ministry – Who is this Stephen in Stephen Ministry? In Acts 6, Stephen was chosen to provide caring ministry to those in need. Since the time of the Apostles, caring ministry has been considered a hallmark of the Christian faith community. To learn more about Stephen Ministry, talk to one of the pastors or email Stephen Ministry.

  • Grassroots Meals Ministry: Make a Meal – Tuesday, March 25. Love to cook? Looking for a way to serve those in need in Howard County? Sign up today to provide a meatloaf or two for the Grassroots emergency shelter, serving families in need in Howard County. Read more about this ministry or email Grassroots.
  • Howard County Economic Development Authority Resource Expo – Wednesday, March 26, 9:30 am-12:00 pm at the Kenneth S Ulman Innovation Hub, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, first floor.
  • Family Matters – Saturday, April 5, 6:00 pm. Do you have kids in preschool through middle school? We are a small group that typically meets every 1st Saturday of the month. This is a great opportunity to make friends with other families with kids at Glen Mar! Bring the whole family, an entrée or side dish and join us in the Glen Mar Youth Lounge.
  • Federal Workers Career Fair – Tuesday, April 8, 6:00-8:00 pm at Howard Community College. For more information email Howard County Help.
  • Maundy Thursday – Thursday, April 17, 7:30 pm.
  • Good Friday – Friday, April 18, 7:30 pm.
  • Easter Services – Sunday, April 20, 6:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am.

YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

  • Youth Group – No youth group this evening! Join us next week to learn about the spiritual discipline of bible study!
  • High School Retreat! – May 2-4. Don’t miss out a return to Bethany Beach to Dive Deep! We’ll dive into how to read the Bible, understand it, and apply it to our life. There will also be plenty of time for other beachy things like sand, the boardwalk, ice cream, and more! $140 per youth, register here.

MUSIC MINISTRY:

Music groups for adults, youth, and kids: For more information, visit our Glen Mar Music Ministry blog. Sundays: Children’s Choir at 10:45 am, Voices of Praise Youth Choir at 10:45 am, and Youth Bell Choir at 11:30 am.
