Join “The Journey” Advent Bible Study

Sign up now (or Sunday) to deepen your Advent experience this season. Join us for Adam Hamilton’s “The Journey” a 5-session small group study, including readings, videos with settings in the Holy Land, and group discussion. This study coincides with Glen Mar’s sermon series for the four Sundays of Advent that will enrich our preparations for celebrating the birth of Jesus. Wish Upon A Star – Helping to Make Christmas Brighter!

We are again assisting about 30 families with clothing, food, and toys. Now through November 27, you may choose stars in the Gathering Place or sign up online by searching for “Wish Upon A Star” on Glen Mar’s website. Stop by our area in the Gathering Place on Sunday to learn more.

Family Christmas Casting Call

We need you! Family Worship is looking for children, youth, and young adults to participate in the Family Christmas Eve worship services. MLK Jr. Day of Service 2023 – The time is NOW to help make it happen!

Volunteers are needed to serve as activity leads and hosts at our annual MLK Jr. Day of Service at Glen Mar Church on Monday, January 16, 2023. Mini Health Fair – November 12 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Come to our fall Mini Health Fair and receive free COVID booster shots for 5-year-old and up; annual flu shots for 6-month-old and up; health screening; vision and hearing screening and more. Operation Christmas Child – Due on Sunday, November 13

Glen Mar youth will be packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 13. There is still time to donate small toys and gifts or money for shipping. Be Smart Tabling Event – Sunday, November 13

The Social Justice Group (SJG) is hosting a “tabling event” to promote our goal of gun violence prevention. The SJG will feature the “Be Smart” program, launched by “Everytown for Gun Safety.” “Be Smart” teaches practical ways to keep children, youth, and community members safe from gun violence through SMART practices. Come learn more!

HOLA Toastmasters of Ellicott City – Next meeting, Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 pm

Do you want to practice public speaking, improve your communication and build leadership skills? With Toastmasters, you can break barriers, not your budget. Holistic Self-Care Community Day – Saturday, November 19 at 11:00 am

“Self-Care is not just for our physical body, it’s inclusive of our whole self; we will explore and process through different ways to care for ourselves and the important benefits of doing so!” Young adults, adults, and senior citizens are invited to join “TALK IT OUT” founder and facilitator, Emily Fowler at The Harriet Tubman Cultural Center, Rose Matthews & Mammie Harcum MP Room, 8045 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, MD. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC), Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, December 10, from 9:00 – 11:00 am

The Girl Scout Service Unit 660, Troop 10179 invites your family to Breakfast With Santa at Glen Mar Church. This family-friendly event will include a pancake bar, crafts, and photo opportunity with Santa. There will also be an opportunity for little ones to create a letter for Santa that he will take back to the North Pole. The event is FREE and open to the public. We just ask everyone to register/RSVP to assist the Girl Scouts with planning their service event.
