Happy 70th Birthday, Glen Mar! Join us in the Gathering Place between services this Sunday for fellowship, fun and cake!
Wish Upon A Star – Last day to sign up is next Sunday, November 24th! Consider helping to make Christmas brighter for about 35 families, as well as Everstand (formerly Board of Child Care) and Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center by signing up to provide gifts of toys, clothing, food, or gift cards. You may choose stars in the Gathering Place or sign up online by searching for “Wish Upon A Star” on Glen Mar’s website. Stop by the Gathering Place today to learn more!

It’s almost the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! Honor a loved one this Christmas and help beautify our Spirit Center by ordering a poinsettia! Please place orders by December 15.
Year-end is a time for Giving! As we take stock and reflect on our blessings this year, it seems only natural to express our gratitude with a gift, and while many of these gifts will be given to family and friends, many of us have been blessed by our church!
Stephen Ministry – Who is the Stephen in Stephen Ministry? In Acts 6, Stephen was chosen to provide caring ministry to those in need. Since the time of the Apostles, caring ministry has been considered a hallmark of the Christian faith community. Mark your calendars! – For the 11th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 20, 2025 to honor Dr. King’s legacy through acts of kindness, service and unity!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Lunch Bunch – Tuesday, November 19 at 11:30 am in the Lower Gathering Place. Lunch Bunch is a group of “seasoned citizens” who meet the third Tuesday of each month from September through June for fellowship, fun, and of course, lunch! This month, bring a sandwich!
Alphabet Soup – Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm. Looking for a safe space where you can be yourself? Alphabet Soup is a reconciling community, celebrating diversity and inclusiveness, and welcoming and affirming ALL people. Learn more at Community Groups or email Alphabet Soup.
Our Next Turn at the Rt. 1 Day Resource Center – Saturday, November 23. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC), Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. If you’d like to contribute to the potluck menu, help serve on site, or even view future SignUps, please visit glenmarumc.org/drc. Grassroots Meals Ministry Make a Meal – Tuesday, November 26. Love to cook? Looking for a way to serve those in need in Howard County? Advent Communion Service – Sunday, December 8-22, 8:30 am. Join us in the Glen Mar Chapel for an intimate 30 minute service of communion, prayer and scriptural reflection throughout the season of Advent! Let’s get ready for the birth of our Savior through gathering for Holy Communion!

YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

Serve: Wish Upon a Star – TONIGHT! A super-sized Youth Group 5:30 – 7:30 pm! We’ll be shopping for gifts for Glen Mar’s “Wish Upon a Star” project to provide Christmas gifts for families in need. All youth must have a 2024-25 permission form on file. Bring $5 for dinner PLUS $10 for shopping.
