- Stephen Ministry is Here to Help! During a stressful time, Stephen Ministry is here to help you connect with God in a way that you may not have experienced before. - Trunk or Treat Festival on October 28th from 10am-12pm. This family friendly event will have decorated cars, games, crafts and a moon bounce! Sign up is on Realm. We also need volunteers to decorate their vehicle, help with games and activities and to donate candy. Check out the table in the Gathering Place for more information and to sign up to help!
- Journey to Bethlehem – November 30, December 1, 2, & 3. Mark your calendar for the event of the season! A FREE outdoor Christmas experience for the whole family where you can meet Roman soldiers, shepherds (and their sheep) and angels as you journey through the Christmas story. Help us prepare to tell the “Greatest Story Ever Told”. Return costumes from last year. Sign up to play a part, from behind the scenes to in the scenes. Youth Group – Sunday, October 1 at 5:30 pm
Being a Good Teammate – Being a church is a lot like being on a really great big team, come to youth group (5:30-7) and we’ll be talking about what it means to be part of a team and how to be on the best team. Dinner with your teammates and a fun night together, what else could you want? Remember to bring $5 for dinner
Ministry Town Hall – Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 pm
Join us for our next Ministry Town Hall where you have a chance to engage with ministry leaders, ask the Pastors questions about Methodism or Glen Mar specifically, and learn about upcoming events. Your presence and input matter. Hope to see you there. Register to attend in person or online.
HOLA Toastmasters of Ellicott City – Tuesday, October 3 at 7:30 pm
We meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm. We have hybrid meetings both online and in person on first Tuesdays at Glen Mar and on ZOOM only on third Tuesdays. For more information, email Rajan Gupta.

Family Matters Pot Luck Dinner -Saturday, October 7, 6:00 pm
Do you have kids in preschool through middle school? We are a small group that meets every 1st Saturday of the month. This is a great opportunity to make friends with other families with kids at Glen Mar! Bring the whole family, an entrée or side dish and join us in the Glen Mar Youth Lounge.

Charge Conference on ZOOM – Tuesday, October 10 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Join us for this yearly meeting with our District Superintendent Representative. All church members will be eligible to vote. At the charge conference, we will worship, share joys from the past year, share reports from different administrative teams, and approve pastoral compensation for 2024. Do you need the ZOOM link? Dancing Needles – Thursday, October 12 at 1:00 pm
Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting or would you like to learn? We need you in our prayer shawl group. Prayer shawls are given to those in hospital and those in need of special care as a reminder that others care and are praying for them. The group is also making baby blankets for our newborns and scarves for our armed forces. We usually meet the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 pm in Room 144 to knit, crochet, and share together. If you wish you can knit or crochet at home and we can arrange to have your finished items picked up or dropped off at church. Donations of yarn are always welcome.
Habitat for Humanity – Next work date Saturday, October 14
Do you enjoy doing handy work? Or do you wish you knew how to do handy tasks around your home? The Glen Mar Habitat Crew welcomes you to join us, either way. You must be 16 or older to work on a Habitat site. We work the second Saturday of every month. If construction isn’t your gift, you can still support this wonderful mission by volunteering in the Restores. Contact Adrienne Taylor to learn more or to sign up.
Bible Sunday – October 15

7th Annual Jewels for Hope Sale at Glen Mar – Saturday, November 4
Mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Jewels for Hope Sale at Glen Mar, November 4, 8:30 a.m. to 2p.m. Invite your friends and neighbors and help make it a success! Please drop off your gently-worn jewelry and scarves at the box in Glen Mar’s Gathering Place anytime before October 15. 100% of the proceeds benefit HopeWorks of Howard County, the County’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center.
