- Kids and the Law: What Every Parent Needs to Know – Tuesday, October 24 at 8:00 pm. Because at Glen Mar, we believe that Jesus cares about every aspect of who we are, including legally and financially, we’ve arranged for Attorney Jen Kidwell from Maryland Legacy Law Group, to do a zoom that is specifically for parents. She’ll do a brief legal presentation and then answer your questions about the legal and financial concerns you face as parents. If that fits what you need right now, the zoom event will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 pm. Register here for Zoom link.
- Trunk or Treat Festival – Saturday, October 28 from 10:00am to noon. Join us for this family friendly event! Enjoy decorated cars, games, crafts and a moon bounce! Sign up is on Realm. We also need volunteers to decorate their vehicle, help with games and activities and to donate candy. Check out the table in the Gathering Place on October 1 for more information and to sign up to help! [Read More]
- Blessing of the Animals – Sunday, October 29 at 2:00 pm. Bring your pets of all kinds to Glen Mar for a special time of blessing for our furry and scaly friends. This outdoor event on the Glen Mar grounds will take about 45 minutes. The public is invited – so bring friends. It’s free! Please abide by applicable leash laws and come celebrate these beloved family members. We will meet in the grassy area where we have the Easter Morning service, by the downstairs well entrance. If it rains, this event will be canceled, even though our pets won’t mind the rain. Questions? Email us.
- We are very excited that the 7th Annual Jewels for Hope Sale at Glen Mar is Saturday, November 4 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. 100% of the Proceeds benefit HopeWorks, the County’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. Last year they served over 3400 clients and provided 4100 shelter nights to clients. That is 11 survivors in their shelter every night! You can support HopeWorks by making the sale a success. Invite all your friends and neighors for the many special purchases that are available.
- Lunch w/the Pastors – Sunday, November 5th at 12:30 pm. Our pastors would love to meet you, in person, with lunch—on us! Please Pray for Our Stephen Minister Trainees
Our Stephen Minister trainees are learning about “Assertiveness: Relating Gently and Firmly.” They determine what makes an assertive approach more effective than passive or aggressive relating, look at the Biblical foundation of assertiveness, and discuss and apply the principles of the book Speaking the Truth in Love: How to Be an Assertive Christian, which uses Jesus as the model for assertive behavior. Please continue to keep our growing Stephen Ministry in your prayers. .” For information about connecting with Stephen Ministry, speak to a Pastor or email our Team today.
